This sure has been an eventful week!

Another beta was released to fix a few issues the previous one had.
The LoQO art contest I held at HentaiFoundry came to a close and the winners crowned.
The 300 audition lines for the various characters in the game is done, with a second phase casting call completed and 11 new VA's has been welcomed into the "family" to voice 15 characters.

In fact, I'm going to be totally honest and say I might've worked a little too hard, I feel a bit burned out and exhausted so I think it might do me good to slow down things for a couple of days.
But saying I'm going to take a break from game development completely for a week would likely be a lie since I know I wouldn't be able to keep me away that long... x3
I might focus on introducing the new voices to the game, it's one of those things that takes time but doesn't show any results until the clips are added to the game.
So I might compile a bunch of lines, then take a few days off while waiting for the lines to be recorded to come back a bit more refreshed! Sounds fair? :3

Either way, I'll be back with a new update as always next Tuesday!

  2. New voices! That's something to look forward to. By the way, have a question. Do you think that later in development you will add more scenes, mini scenes, or even sprite scenes to earlier parts of the game? It seems like there's a lot of places to add scenes like that. For example, I was surprised that there wasn't a some kind of scene in the sauna place in Kahr. And since there is a place for baths in warrengard it feels like that could be a future scene as well. I was just wondering if you might look into that later in development. Kind of like how you add more lines of dialogue to earlier parts of the game.

    Anyway, hope you get good rest. Feeling burned out is never great.

    2. I would defo love for scenes to be added to earlier parts of the game sometime in the future be they sprite sex or actual full scenes.

    3. One of the things I'd like to see (although it probably won't happen cause it may take a lot of time and money) is to see some scenes in certain monster dens. There was a cave or two I saw with a bunch of monsters that had an area on the back that was like a base for monsters and there were puddles of "white substances" on the floor. I was thinking maybe a scene could happene where one of the characters has to distract the monsters while you steal from them or maybe save some hostages to avoid having a long drawn out fight. Maybe with some tweaking t could be a combination of mini games with Farah and Gabrielle and side quests like the pilgrimage and stealing donations from the jadeite temples. Basically you have to go into a monster den to either save hostages or retrieve treasure. The monsters can be fought but it can be tough. So you have the option of having one of the girls distract them. I could be a mini scene or a sprite scene. And after all was said and done, the monsters would either fall asleep or they'd be so exhausted that it would make the fight easier. It could be a form of questing on the side to get money or special treasures. But implementing something like that would probably take a while or it might be too tough or expensive.

      So another idea for scenes would be one between Beatrix and tharg near the beginning before leaving Colussia. So when you have the first conversation with Kythe, depending on if you unlocked it you would already know about that relationship. Although I kind of wish there could be a scene between the protagonist and Beatrix in the beginning but make it more casual compared to the scene at the tavern. Another idea is summer fun scene at the cove (having everyone naked there and not having something happen is a shame). And of course, something HAS to happen at Uncle Dad's farm sooner or later. And my last idea is to have some stuff happen with the heavenly fate. Maybe have some new management take it over and have the girls perform there too rather than just the gentlemen's club.

  3. Burned out, ya i fell you, this 40 degrees celsius heat wave is a bit of a cunt. :P
    Anyway quality over quantity is best so get some rest to be in tip top shape when the engines are roaring again!

  4. I'm sorry if this sounds a little presumptuous of me but when should we expect a full patch to the game Orwell an episode 3, you had said next year right? I'm asking as a non patreon

    1. Yeah, it won't be out until late next year.
      Each episode has about a 1 year and 6 month development cycle, and the latest episode was just released a few months back. :3

  8. Ever consider LoQO t-shirts as a possibility? My personal favorite idea is various tees that are just the women's cleavage in their outfits.

  9. Just recieved my Osira figure...and, I gotta say I like her alot more than Farah's so far. Especially the face (Eyes/nose/mouth) I feared for the worst (hiding fahrah's eye's mabye because shapeways cant do it really well I tought) but , jeah Osira turns out fine (^.^) ,now only opala left for the family reunion...(>.>) *cough* and adult Farah of course.

  10. Hello, I just want to say, I just saw your game, Legend of Queen Opala Origin, I'm new to hentai RPGs, and I want to say the game is so rich and it's super awesome! since I'm Egyptian, i like the Egyptian twist you threw in the game, it's marvelous :D

    I just have one question... what is the Status system for? How does Dex, Agi, Int, Str, come into play in combat? What do they effect? that's like 3 question 1 in question :D

    Well anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for such beautiful game :)

    1. There's no actually any Egyptian twist in the game. The story takes its beginning from Legend of Queen Opala 1 - the very first game of the series (by the way, it mostly takes place in Egypt, unlike the sequels).

      There're three of them (so far?): LoQO 1, LoQO 2 and LoQO:O, and I think you should play these other ones besides the Origins as well.

      The status window simply shows all characteristics of a chosen party member.
      As for the combat system, check this page:

      I think, the system used in LoQO:O is more or less the same.

  11. Hey Gabe, you posted a while ago about maybe hiring someone to write the CGs in your stead. Why don't you update the "monthly" poll to ask that?

    Also, if you chose to hire someone, are you thinking about making a contest for it? Maybe ask people to write a small scene with some specifications?

    And as always, great work with your game. Following since early LoQO2 development, and the content quality has only improved since. Keep up the good work!

  12. I have been following your work for years since LOQO 1 and have been a patreon of yours for 2 years now. I just want you to know that your work is more entertaining for me than most AAA games now. The humor is spectacular and the scenes are sexy as hell. You truly are doing great work and I just wanted you to know that. Take it easy!
